Michèle Totaro
April 13, 1935 – May 16, 2021
Michèle was born in Mont St. Angelo, Italy, April 13, 1935. God took him Home in the early hours of May 16th from Pinecrest Home for the Aged in Kenora. He was 86 years old.
He is predeceased by his mother, Concetta Guerra (gw-ERR-ah); his father, Matteo Totaro; his sister, Mattea Totaro; his brother, Pasquale Totaro and his 1st wife, Angelina Totaro.
His is survived by his current wife, Flora Shier-Totaro; step-daughter, Tracy Shier and step-grandson, Cashton Shier. In Mont St. Angelo live his sisters, Nunzia, Maria, Libera (twin sister) and Palma Totaro. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews in Italy. In Kenora, his sister-in-law, Josie Totaro, and nieces, Tina, Daniella and Maria Totaro.
When he came to Canada in the early 1960’s he worked as a mechanic for the C.P.R. until retirement.
He enjoyed watching a good movie or WWF wrestling. He loved going home to Italy and seeing his sisters whom he loves very dearly. He was a member of Notre Dame Parish and would attend regularly with Flora. He was a very patient and quiet man, could fix anything (MacGiver), and kept his vehicle meticulously tidy and clean, even under the hood.
He had a penchant for Nutella, and “gambling” with Cashton. A very dear man, he will be missed, thought of often and dearly loved. May he rest in peace.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 from 7:00pm - 9:00pm, due to COVID restrictions those who would like to attend are asked to contact Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre at 807-468-8633 to book a visitation time, masks are mandatory and must be worn at all times with social distancing measures in affect, at this time there is a capacity of 10 people.
A Traditional Funeral Service will be held in memory of Michèle at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 429 Second Street, South, Kenora on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 10:00 am. Please know, due to COVID, this service has been structured to protect yourself and staff. All friends or family wishing to attend must call the funeral home at 807-468-8633, at this time there is a capacity of only 10 people. masks must be worn at all times and social distancing measures will be in effect. A Traditional Burial will take place at Lake of the Woods Cemetery following the service with Father Rudy Manaloto to officiating.
