Lisa Helen Everson, age 61, passed away unexpectedly on June 26th, 2024 in Thunder Bay, ON. Lisa was born in Kenora, Ontario on July 25th, 1962.
Lisa is predeceased by her beloved daughter Charlie Jade Everson-Greene, her husband Daniel, her brother Charlie Everson, her father Ronald Everson and her grandparents Arthur and Helen Everson and Stanley and Isabella Wesley.
Lisa is survived by her children Lindsay, Ryan, and Caitlin and her grandsons, Marcus, Elijah, Neil, and Krillin. Suffering her loss will be her mother Catherine (Kitty), her brothers Ron (Lise), Eric, and Randy, her sisters, Susan, Rena (Joe), and Ingrid (Vince) as well as numerous nieces and nephews, family members and many friends.
In her younger days, Lisa was remembered in her role as the Lil Eagles Coordinator, ensuring young urban Indigenous youth were connected to culture. She was an amazing leader who ensured her young charges danced at pow-wows, spent time on the land with knowledge keepers and always had a good time. She was also a helper at the solvent abuse program through the Lake of Woods District Hospital. This program was critical in helping youth struggling with addiction. Lisa made some amazing connections in her work and learned so much about living a good life. She continued throughout her life to try to walk that path and never gave up on herself.
Lisa was a beautiful soul that was able to light up a room with her beauty and laughter. Growing up, Lisa was spent a lot of time with her siblings, naturally bossy and for the younger ones, a second mom. She often took them to the beach where they would swim all day. She loved getting her suntan on and she was sure to swim whenever she could.
Lisa was super friendly, funny, and brilliant. Lisa knew how to access information and she was always willing to share what she knew with those around her. Her kind demeanor ensured that she had a wide network of acquaintances and friends. She was the type of person who could strike up a conversation with a stranger and they would soon become fast friends. Lisa always made sure to connect people, that was her gift. She was resourceful, bold, creative, loving, witty, and intelligent. She adored and loved her children, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren and was so proud of them and all their accomplishments.
Lisa will be missed dearly by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. In Lisa’s words, it’s not goodbye, it’s Toodaloo!!!
Journey well, to our “most beautiful” sister. You will be missed, but never forgotten.
