I remember seeing George many times by JB groceries. He was always happy to spend a couple of minutes talking and he always seemed to be happy. When George was at work that was priority. This might explain George being happy all the time
, "You too shall pass away. Knowing this, how can you quarrel?"

So very sorry to hear of the loss of George.  My sister Fran and I worked with him at Alkayes in Lakeside as teenagers.  He was such a ``card`` always bursting into laughter when joking or teasing us.  He was a very conscientious and hard worker.  In later years, Paul would give George a ride home sometimes.  George would meet Paul at the back door of Acklands-Grainger.  Our sincerest condolences go out to the Saunders family.  Marjorie Zimmer (nee Drew), Frances Bailey (nee Drew), and Paul Jackson

George was a valuable member of staff at JB Grocery for many years.  His kindness , big heart , and sense of humour are not forgotten.  Doing home deliveries with George was a good way to sneak in some driving practice.  During  the Grey Cup games, which used to be played on a Saturday , George would run a path between the store and upstairs to keep up with the score.
Over the years , there was always a friendly greeting .

Georges Family  We go back a long way and just remembering he was our old goaltender when we played hockey Funny how you recall all the laughs we had back then and running into George down by No Frills always had a chat a nd a laughHe was a good man with a hearty laugh and a good heart .Rest in Peace my friend and no telling too many jokes up there just as many as you can to keep everyone laughing Will miss you but never forget the good times we shared in our our younger years
