Brad spent his early years in Kenora, moving to Brandon and then spending his teenage years in Parksville on Vancouver Island. He made his way back to Kenora to work for CP Rail. It was here that he met and married Laura. They moved to Red Lake where Brad started his career in mining at Campbell Mine and worked there for 15 years. Brad decided to try fly in mining and the family moved back to Kenora. After an injury, Brad attended Confederation College where he earned his Human Resources Diploma. This allowed him to continue his work in the mining industry as a Mine Rescue Trainer and later as an Occupational Health and Safety Co-ordinator. In this capacity, he worked in many different areas in Canada’s north and as an ex-pat in several different countries overseas. He loved to travel and explore new places but what he loved most of all was spending time at home with family and especially his 3 children whom he adored. Spending time on the lake, sitting around a bon fire or just having a family meal were cherished times for him.
Brad was also very creative and liked to work with his hands. He would spend hours tinkering in his shop working on projects big and small, always making sure he had the right tools for each and every job with a few extras just in case.
Brad is survived by his wife of 34 years, Laura, and his 3 beloved children; Liam (Bri) Aidan (Riley) and Eilidh. His is also survived by his mother Sharon, mother-in-law Katherine, brother-in-law Gordon (Lori), sister-in-law Susan (Mark) and brother-in-law Ian. He also leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins as well as many nieces and nephews.
Brad was predeceased by his father Donald and father-in-law Bill.
