March 20,1960 - December 28, 2020
It is with heavy hearts we announce after a brief and courageous battle with cancer Bonnie passed away on December 28, 2020 at Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora, Ontario.
Bonnie leaves behind her husband of 40 years Robert, her 3 loving sons Paul, Trevor and Shaun, her Sister Cheryl Kerr (nee Comstock) of Calgary, her Brother John of Winnipeg and her Sister Barbara Woods (nee Comstock) (Scott) of Winnipeg, her sister-in-law Carolyn Comstock (nee Campbell) of Winnipeg, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Bonnie was predeceased by her precious infant daughter Beatrice Amber, lovingly known as Tricy, her father Roland Synical Comstock, her mother Beatrice May Comstock (nee Bardsley) her brother William Comstock and her nephew Jeffery Comstock. As well her in-laws Arthur Wares, Gladys Wares (nee Rayment) brothers-in-law Stuart Wares, Frank Kerr and sister-in-law Christine Comstock (nee Rychuk).
Bonnie was born and raised in Winnipeg and after completing her schooling she pursued a career in the insurance industry. Things were looking great for Bonnie in her chosen profession until the love of her life came along. Bonnie and Robert were married May 3, 1980 and promptly started a family. Bonnie gave up her career to raise her children and to keep Rob on the straight and narrow. Bonnie truly loved being a Mom to her boys, even the four legged goldens. She was always finding ways to entertain the boys, be it singing silly songs, playing board games, making Christmas and other holidays special. As the boys grew older, Bonnie had the time now for herself, she enjoyed researching her ancestry, searching antique stores or garage sales looking for just the right item that would light up her smile. Bonnie was an avid reader, she loved books and was always eager to share what new things she learned.
Bonnie also loved all types of music, from the Big Band era to today’s pop. She especially liked going to people’s homes to enjoy an intimate concert. She enjoyed these Home Concerts so much she volunteered to host some concerts, which were always a success. Bonnie took great pleasure in bringing joy to those who attended the show.
Bonnie fell in love with Laclu when we first came here as cottagers, many a good time was had by all throughout the years, from taking the boys to Millar’s Beach in a wheel barrow to swim when they were small, to taking the boys water skiing and fishing as they grew or hunting for garder snakes and other creatures of the lake life. There is no doubt we were blessed to have such a wonderful life at the cottage, so much so we made it our home.
Umma, you are and always will be the love of my life, until we meet again, love Obie.
Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life.
Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.
John 11:25-26
