October 28, 1960 – October 18, 2020
It is with great sorrow we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Alexander James Mallett, he was a loving Husband, Father, Papa, Uncle, Brother and Friend who died unexpectedly on October 18, 2020 at Northwest Angle.
Alex was born in Kenora, Ontario on October 28, 1960 to parents Russell Mallett and Elsie (Sandy) Blackhawk and raised on the Northwest Angle First Nation with ten siblings. He was a residential school survivor. He loved the community he grew up in and he wanted to see it grow and thrive. He served in his community for a number of years as a council member. He enjoyed hunting, playing pool, watching his grandchildren play sports, spending time outdoors and the family gatherings every summer. He was a good example of a hard worker in both his personal and professional life. He was always busy outside working on a motor or fixing something. Whenever something needed to be completed, he was always front and center with tools in hand and a hint of enthusiasm and vigor. He didn't always say the words but he spoke so clearly and loudly with his actions and with all that he did for his family and those around him.
He was a loving and devoted husband to Laura Mallett of 39 yrs and a loving father to Sarah, Alexander Jr (AJ), and twins Aaron and Ariel Dawn. He was a doting Papa to grandsons, Jordan, James, Jesse, Jace, and granddaughters, Sydney and Emily whom he adored with all his heart. His life revolved around his family. He leaves behind siblings, Margaret (Charlie), Melvin (Maria), Elaine, Joyce, Albert (Linda), Annette (Roberto Sr), Grace (Adam), Raven, Cree and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a good natured, fun, loving, gentle soul. He will be remembered by his teasing jokes, stories and his generous smile. He was kind, compassionate, forgiving person you can always count on and a good friend to all that knew him. Alex will be greatly missed by so many.
Alex joins both his mother and father, his brother, Dwayne Blackhawk, his nephew, Darryl Blackhawk, and his brother-in-law, Otto Quedent in heaven.
