Wow! It's been a year since God called you home and we're still missing your presence... You've touched all our lives and in such a very short time in  so many ways that's undeniable and welcome.. Rest on our friend as one day we're all going to be celebrating with our Lord... Greatly missed and loved always.

Bro Champ, I was thinking not to long ago about how much I miss you man. We did not know each other very long, but you impacted my life in a huge way!

I’m a friend of Champ’s through his neighbors, Judy, Dana, and Wesley. Often when I came to visit them, Champ would drop by and spend an hour or two with us. He was an absolute delight to be around—his blend of humor and wisdom was always welcome, and he had a touching way of making you feel truly seen and understood, even after only a short time. I’ll miss his big smile and heavenly cooking.

The live-streamed service this morning (which we had intended to attend in person but couldn’t because of transportation issues) was lovely. What wonderful memories of a wonderful man.

Let light perpetual shine upon him. 🕯  

Gone Too Soon!!!

When I moved back to ATL in 2018, Champ, one of many to welcome me home, said, "Shirley...I love you cuz you know I got you." Don't worry. He kept his word. He came by, often called, and we conversed, mainly about his life. His mother passed Oct 2021. 
His passing was sudden, and the cause we may never know; he loved family and adored his mother more than life.
Diagnose: Broken Heart 
Although your body may not be laid next to "Lula" moma, you are with her in spirit.  May you rest in peace. Love you, you will be missed.

To my cousin champ I had just got you back in I finally got you back in my life now you're gone so soon hurts me really bad I pray for the family members that's there and their respect for you I pray for peace and understanding with God and I pray peace and I know God has you under his wings now love you and you will be Miss dearly forever your cousin Ann

To the Pittman family~ Our Angel Lula, William, Ann, and Kim. Your Cousins Frenchie, Our Dear Angel Marvette, Curtis Jr, Tara, & Keith Brown send our deepest sympathy for the loss of our Beloved Champ. As my eyes fill with tears this is the last thing I expected. The two hardest things to say in life are “Hello” for the first time and “Goodbye” for the last. I remember both like it was yesterday. When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure. I will forever treasure every memory of you. Treasured in my heart you’ll forever stay until we meet again someday. Farewell Champ in your journey to eternity, you will never be forgotten. I know you and Mama Lou are rejoicing, praising God having a good time. I can hear her saying, “Hey Baby!” or “That’s my Bishop!” Kiss and hug her for me and take care of our Angel. You may be gone from my sight, but never from my heart. Fly High Champ! I will love you always...

Farewell my dear friend. The past two weeks have been rough without my daily phone call. Not hearing your voice on the other end. If only I had known that your visit on Thursday night would be your last. When I think of your sudden departure I think of Lashun Pace singing "There's A Leak In This Old Building." You were tired Ko!
Thank you for being you! Thank you for praying with me, thank you for all of your advise, even when I didn't want it! To everyone else you were Champ. To me you will always be "Kojack". I know you hated your nickname. 😁 You are the only one that could call me crazy and get away with it. 
I am sure you rode into Heaven in your all white Cadillac Escalade eating a Mackrel sandwich. 

To my buddy, my pal, my best friend. You will be truly missed . I thank God for the years we had it just was not long enough. To just hear you say you my dog , your my rider brighten my heart every day.  I would do anything to hear them words from you just one more time. I know your with Mama Lula now smiling down on us. Rest Easy my BEST Friend, you will forever live on thru many family lives that you touched but ESPECIALLY OURS. The love you gave was so genuine and much appreciated. My sincere condolences to the Pittman family and Champs sisters Ann and Kim. My memories of Champ are when he was a lil boy.  He was loved dearly by all of the females in the family especially his mom Lula.
