Mrs. Runnell Towe Crawford, aged 82, passed away October 26, 2020 peacefully in her sleep after a long journey with Dementia. She is now reunited with her husband, Grady, and they are with their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Runnell never accepted that she had dementia, and fought it persistently until the end.
Runnell was no stranger to hard work. She grew up a sharecropper’s daughter, went back to school to obtain her GED, and always maintained an impeccable home. She gave of her time and opened up her home to her children’s friends and her church family. Her greatest happiness in life was her grandchildren, and she enjoyed cooking and having guests for big Sunday dinners where homemade dressing was a favorite. She appreciated Estee Lauder original perfume, dressing very classy in red and black, or hot pink, enjoying Red Velvet cake, Hersey bars, and Coca-Cola.
Runnell retired from Cobb EMC where she worked as a Microfiche Supervisor for 16 years. Prior to Cobb EMC she worked for Home Transportation Trucking Company and Sears & Roebuck. Runnell is survived by her daughter, Pam McClure and son-in-law, Joel, her son Greg Crawford and daughter-in-law, Afshan, her Grandchildren, Keyla, Kyle and Lily, sisters, Bernice Samples, Mary Haradon, Juanita Drissel, Joyce Nix, Brenda Wilcox and Janice Stephens and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held with the immediate family on October 30, 2020 at Winkenhofer Memorial Park with Rev. Mike Stephens officiating.
