Ronald Milton Pirl, 77, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. He was surrounded by his wife of 48 years, Tran, and his two children. Ron was born in Providence, Rhode Island on November 10, 1943, spent his childhood in Arkansas and had the opportunity to travel the world as part of the Air Force and as a contract employee for the US government. He retired in Atlanta, Georgia where he lived for the past 33 years.
Ron knew no stranger and oftentimes made conversation with people from all walks of life. He had a passion for golf and made many friends at the golf course where he loved to spend his free time. Many times he would come home talking about different Army generals he would have just met and shared drinks with. He also enjoyed playing board games and card games with others and passed down his knowledge of Cribbage to anyone willing including his children and grandchildren. Most of all, Ron enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow and when he was more mobile enjoyed going to their extracurricular activities.
Ron is survived by his wife, Tran Sang Pirl; his children, Sheila Mai Evans (Jeremy) and Aaron Wesley Pirl (Ivy) and his brother, Donald Edward Pirl. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Kaitlyn Renee Evans, Cameron Scott Evans, Kyle Wesley Evans, Sebastian Alexander Pirl, Evangeline Rose Pirl, and Juniper Wren Pirl.
He is preceded in death by his father, John Whitlock Pirl, his mother, Vera Wilbanks Pirl, his sister Vanessa Gunno and his granddaughter, Clara Kate Pirl.
Memorial services will be held on May 15, 2021 at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home and Memorial Park located at 2950 North Cobb Parkway, Kennesaw, Georgia. Doors will open at 9AM for paying respects and speaking with family. The formal service will start at 10 AM. The family would like to open their home after the memorial for a light lunch and refreshments. All are welcome to attend. The address is 2116 Shillings Chase Drive, Kennesaw, GA 30152.
A separate private burial will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at the National Veteran’s Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
