When World War II began, Reveka and her family evacuated to Russia in 1941. In 1944, they went back home to Minsk and Reveka shortly began attending college. In January of 1954, Reveka married Iosif Kapilevich. Reveka and Iosif worked as engineers and after getting married they moved to Siberia for a short period of time before returning to their home city of Minsk where they both lived and worked until retired. In September of 1992, they moved to the United States of America with their family.
Reveka was very family oriented and loved spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and especially baking for them. In her spare time, she loved to crochet.
Reveka remained married to Iosif for sixty-four years before his passing in July of 2018.
Along with her parents and her husband, Reveka is preceded in death by her son-in-law Aleksandr Shtylman; brothers, Peter and Iosif Levental; and sister, Hannah Plaks.
She is survived by two children, Oleg Kapilevich and Viktoriya Shtylman; three grandchildren, Roman Shtylman, Anna Howard, and Stanislav Kapilevich; and four great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Maya, Aubrey, and Caleb and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends also survive.
A visitation and funeral service to honor Reveka Levental will be held on April 26, 2019 at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm. Reveka Levental will be laid to rest following the service at Liberty Hill Cemetery.
