1963-2024
Nathan Ralph Merritt, age 60, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2024, at his home in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Nathan was a caring husband, father, and grandfather. Nathan loved playing golf and always had a story to share. He enjoyed being surrounded by his grandchildren and taking family trips to the beach.
Nathan was born in Wilmington, North Carolina, to Ralph and Rosemary Merritt, on September 16, 1963. He married Rene (Paramore) on February 7, 1987. They filled 37 years of marriage with many moments of laughter and unconditional love. Additionally, Nathan devoted 4 years to the United States Navy. Nathan was very proud and honored to be a veteran.
His mother, Rosemary, precedes him in death. In addition to his wife, Nathan is survived by his father, Ralph; his son, Thaddeus (Alyson) Merritt; his daughter, Brittany (O.D.) McPherson; his grandchildren, Olivia and Connor Merritt and Josephine and Owen McPherson; his father and mother in-law, Larry and Joyce Paramore; sister-in-law, Nicole Butcher; niece, Kristen (Troy) Gentry; and nephew, Michael Kempton.
His memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family ask for donations to be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Nathan’s honor.
