The family will receive friends at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Parkway, Kennesaw, Georgia 30152, on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, from 5:00 until 6:30 p.m. A Rosary Service will follow the visitation at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Saint Clare of Assisi Catholic Church in Acworth. The Reverend Michael Revak will officiate. The family will receive friends at their home in Acworth following a private burial service at Pine Ridge Memorial Park following the Mass. Michael’s body will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from noon until 1:00 p.m.
Michael was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a devout Catholic and was active in several parishes: Catholic Church of Saint Ann in Roswell, Saint Catherine of Siena in Kennesaw, and most recently, Saint Clare of Assisi in Acworth. He spent several years as a religious educator at Saint Catherine and Saint Ann. Michael was an avid golfer, tennis player, woodworker, and a very committed Braves fan. He volunteered his time and expertise to Habitat for Humanity in the Atlanta area and also was a volunteer in the Atlanta Olympic Village in 1996. He was a loyal Georgia Tech Alumnus, graduating with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering in 1976 and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1977. Michael retired as an electrical engineer from Georgia Power in 2009 following an over thirty-year career with the company.
Michael is survived by his wife, Susan, his children Michael, Brian, and Patrick (Lauren), his grandsons Cooper and Cole, and his siblings Ann, Eleanor, Catherine, Patrick, and Margaret.
