On August 5th, 1953 Marvin Gerald Hogan was born to JW and Laura Hogan. Marvin was very close to his siblings and parents and loved them very much; He maintained good communication with them right up until he departed this life. The love from his childhood was a trait that carried over into the way he raised and interacted with the family that he created with his darling Brenda. Marvin and Brenda were united in marriage for nearly 52 years and birthed five children. Of the five offspring, there are four boys who will tell you that they credit their father with everything they know and that he is their hero.
Mr. and Mrs. Hogan were members of Brandon Chapel for seven years. Mr. Hogan enjoyed crossword puzzles, woodworking and was a sheetrock guru, a skill which he passed down to his sons. Marvin was charitable and inviting, with a heart of gold and he was well known to have many a saying to boot. At any given time you might hear his welcoming way worded as "come on in and have a seat and sit down beside it". Jokes were common with Mr. Hogan, one of which might be passing by the cemetery and asking "how many dead people do you think are in there"? Then answering "all of em" or asking for $5000 in 20 dollar bills. His family always enjoyed his sayings, but more than that, they will remember the cherished memories.
One fond memory that Mrs. Hogan keeps near and dear is the vow renewal that she and her love had at their 50 year anniversary. The children looked forward to going to North Caroline every July and spending time by the river bank. Marvin Hogan leaves behind a legacy of trade work and love of family.
Mr. Hogan is predeceased by his parents JW and Laura Hogan as well as his brother and sister in law, James Hogan (Judy). He is survived by his wife Brenda Faye Hogan; sons: Anthony Hogan( Michele), Donald Hogan (Jenny), Keith Hogan (Lindsey), Lee Hogan (Lily); a daughter: Julie Hogan (Tony Limardo); sisters: Vicky Duke ( Tom), Lynn Cox (Mike), Helen Green, Margaret Dailey and fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
