Julie grew up in Marietta and also attended Marietta High School. In 1979, she met the love of her life, Michael and a year later they were married. They spent the next thirty-eight years together before her passing shortly before their anniversary on June 3.
Julie had a very loving heart and her generosity is known to be legendary. Julie was always a very giving and caring lady who often welcomed people into her family as her own. In her younger years, she enjoyed fishing and birdwatching. Julie enjoyed watching Nascar, shopping online and also had a love for any and all animals. Family was always very important to Julie, her love for her children was immeasurable and this was shown through every aspect of her life. She maintained a very strong bond with her children and always remained very involved in every aspect of their life.
Along with her parents and loving husband, Julie is survived by her son, Wesley Barnes; daughter, Rachel Barnes; and brother, Everett Wigley.
A funeral service to honor Mrs. Julie Barnes will be held on Friday, April 5, 2019 at twelve o’clock, noon. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, April 4, 2019 between the hours of four and six o’clock in the evening as well as two hours prior to the service on Friday, April 5, 2019. These services will be held at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home at 2950 Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, Ga 30152.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to the Etowah Valley Humane Society.
