Jerry Lamar Turner

Mr. Jerry Lamar Turner, age 69, of Hiram, GA, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2017. Mr. Turner was born on June 12, 1948 in Atlanta, GA., a son to the late Florence Wesley Turner and Lula Mae West Turner.

At the time of his passing Jerry was still working as a Rigger, installing hospital equipment for ICM, where he had been employed for over seventeen years. Jerry loved his job and especially everyone he worked with; his coworkers were like family to him. Jerry loved being around his family and most importantly spending time with his grandchildren. One of his favorite pass times was drinking coffee every morning while watching the birds with his loving wife, Deborah. Knowing something about everything, Jerry was easily the one family and friends always turned to when needing help no matter the situation. In his spare time he enjoyed cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, old cars, and going fishing. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend; he will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Along with his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his seven siblings, Johnny, Lessie, Shirley, Tommy, Raymond, Patsy, and Donald.

He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Turner; two sons, Michael Turner, wife Liz, of Villa Rica and Dwayne Turner of Hiram; three daughters, Michele Jiles of Dallas, GA, Julie Whitfield, husband Jimmy, of Acworth, GA, and Priscilla Saxon of Helen, GA; a step-son, Dakota Crider, wife Mary, of Hiram, GA; twelve grandchildren, Halley, Shelby, Hannah, Miranda, Cassandra, Jacob, Kati, Savannah, Brock, Lily, Emma, and step-grandson Hayden; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends also survive.

A Celebration of Life Gathering for Jerry will take place from six o’clock in the afternoon until eight on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the 1890 Farmhouse of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Parkway Kennesaw, GA 30152.
