Janet is survived by her husband of 52 years, Walter Henry Luttrell; her sons James K. Luttrell and Phillip Randolph “Randy” Luttrell; her granddaughter Julie Kamilla Luttrell; and her daughter-in-law Stephany Luttrell. Janet was preceded in death by her parents James and Barbara McLaren.
Janet was born in Worthing, England on March 7, 1939. She lived through the bombing of England during the Second World War. At the age of fifteen, Janet began her career as a hairdresser working in St. Mary’s on the Isle of Scilly, England. When she was 27 years old, Janet traveled on the Queen Mary to the United States of America. She traveled throughout the United States before moving to Washington D.C., and soon thereafter settling in Savannah, Georgia. Janet became a United States citizen on June 2, 1969. Janet and Walter Luttrell met in Savannah, Georgia, and they married on November 14, 1970. In 1976, Janet and Walter moved to Kennesaw and raised their family. Before her retirement in 2016, Janet owned and operated Janet's Beauty Shop in Kennesaw. She also owned McLaren's Realty. In her spare time, Janet enjoyed playing games, Bridge & Rummikub, and she was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was an ardent supporter and a fierce advocate for her two sons, James and Randy. Janet never met a stranger. She would strike up a conversation with anyone she met. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Janet will be laid to rest in Greenwich Cemetery, Savannah, Georgia.
