Mr. Jan Arthur Stucky, age 77, of Marietta, GA., passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018. Mr. Stucky was born on April 29, 1940 in Port Clinton, OH., a son to the late John Orville Stucky and Violet Hornung Stucky.
He was a very talented and creative individual, building and working with almost any type of material. He spent a lot of his time in his workshop making something out of nothing. He was a collector and tinkerer who constantly worked to fix and make things for those he loved. He adored his two grandsons and was always happiest when they were around.
Mr. Stucky attended Bowling Green University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Drama and Theatre. To complete his Master’s degree, Jan attended Michigan State University and taught speech and theatre as well. Jan was the owner and operator of Marketplace Displays for many years and was still running his business at the time of passing.
Jan was a wonderful, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend; he will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved him. Mr. Stucky is survived by his loving wife, Jayne Williams Stucky; two daughters, Leigh Stucky Coleman, husband Keith, of Acworth, GA., and Cara Stucky-Shanahan, husband Martin, of Clifden, Ireland; two siblings, Rex Stucky and Gay Trace; two grandchildren, Travis Coleman and Aiden Shanahan; several nephews, extended family members and friends also survive.
Private family services for Mr. Stucky will be held at a later date.
