Mr. Daryl Greene, age 71, of Marion, Ohio, formally of Georgia, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018. Mr. Greene was born on April 12, 1946 in Lincoln, Nebraska, a son to the late Roy and Betty Greene.
Following his high school career, Daryl enlisted in the United States Navy and served for eighteen years. Daryl married the love of his life, Kathy Wintgens Greene and the two were married for thirty-five wonderful years, sharing countless memories together. Kathy could easily describe her beloved husband as the ‘best man she ever knew’, and all who knew him could easily agree. Daryl was the Senior Vice President of an Auditing firm for his entire career. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, boating, and playing with his dogs Ellie and Tess. Though Daryl had his ornery ways, his heart was huge and selfless to anyone and everyone he came in contact with. Daryl was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend; he will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Along with his parents, Daryl is preceded in death by one son, Joseph Steven Greene.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Greene; three children, David Keiter, wife Christina, Daryl Keiter, wife Marg, and Dawn Luckwick; two brothers, Gary Greene, wife Carol and Kevin Greene; one sister, Gail Greene, husband Charles; five grandchildren, Tyler, Mitchel, Julie, Ryan, and Josh; two sister-in-law’s, Karen Wintgens, husband Lee, Linda Slone, husband Bobby; niece, Misty Witzel, husband Terry; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and his fur babies also survive.
A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Daryl Greene will be held at four o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, March 4, 2018 in the Chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Pine Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery.
A visitation with the family will take place from eleven thirty in the morning until the time of service on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at the funeral home.
In lieu of customary remembrances the family request donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
