Mr. Wooten was a native of Houston, Mississippi. He was a loving and dedicated husband for 53 years. He was also a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was an avid golfer, and taught physical education for the Cobb County School System for 30 years.
Mr. Wooten was preceded in death by his daughter, Gina Marie Wooten Sloman, and parents, James Marvin Wooten and Margaret Bell Davidson Wooten. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Sue Woods Wooten; daughter, Geri Wooten Gilreath and her husband David Gilreath; grandchildren, Jimmy and Lorin Sloman, and Taran and Nicole Gilreath; great-grandchildren, Madison, Emmaline, and River Sloman; sister, Orene Thompson; and several loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home with Funeral Services at 2:00 PM Wednesday in the funeral home’s chapel. Dr. Doug Gilreath will be officiating the services. Burial will follow at Pine Ridge Memorial Park in Kennesaw, Georgia.
