Marie was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Women's Auxiliary and a member of the American Legion. As an altruistic woman, Marie often made donations and did whatever she could to help our Veterans. She also used her immense talent for knitting and crocheting to make over 1,400 toboggans for cancer patients. Throughout her life, Marie Parker displayed many acts of kindness and generosity to those in need. Annie Marie Parker will always be remembered as a gifted crocheter/knitter, charitable woman, and loving wife, sister, mother, and grandmother.
Marie is survived by her husband, Jack Donald Parker; son James “Speedy” Robert (and wife Lynn) Parker; son Donald LaRoc (and wife Tracy) Parker; son Michael Edward (and wife Sabrina) Parker; and daughter Delores “Dee Dee” Ann Parker Hicks; brother Jack Wilson, brother Harold Wilson, sister Linda Roper and brother Richard Wilson; aunt Shirley Canup and uncle Clayton Vaughn.
The family will receive friends for a visitation at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home on Sunday, October 8, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service to honor the life of Marie Parker will also be held in the chapel of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 2:00 PM.
