Tim McKinney

It is with unimaginable sadness that Tim McKinney, loving husband and devoted father, journeyed to a peaceful rest on April 12, 2017 after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. In recent months, Tim was blessed to take several trips to New Orleans with his wife, Tori, and daughter, Halley including a trip to buy a Marigny condo, to the January Radiators' 39th Reunion shows, and to Mardi Gras with - Halley, Mike "Citron" McKeon, and Jim Morrison. Tim also made it to Super Bowl LI, the game of a lifetime, with his beloved New England Patriots and dear friend, Mike Hoban. Tim recently returned to New Orleans to rest at his home. He enjoyed 2 weeks of visits from family and friends including "house concerts of a lifetime" with John Gros, Ed "Zeke" Volker, and Reggie Scanlan. The sweetest, gentlest, kindest, most generous blue eyed man we know is missed and loved by so many friends and family. We will celebrate Tim's life with two Second Lines: In Falls Church, VA - Sunday, April 23rd, 7pm at Clare & Don's Beach Shack, 140 N Washington St, with Magnolia Blue horns, Cactus Liquors and friends. And In New Orleans, LA - Tuesday, May 2nd, 6pm at Chickie Wah Wah, 2828 Canal St, with John Gros and members of Papa Grows Funk, Bonerama horns, and a few more friends before Anders Osborne and Cris Jacob's show.
