My Dear, Dear Cousin Moira, How you will be missed. YOU mean so much to so many people. I hate not getting the midnight calls from you checking on what the time is or wanting a wake up call. Or wanting to know if I am just driving around in your neighbor hood and can drop some cigarettes because you were out then and needed one more before bed. One of my favorite stories was when you were out and since it was winter and blizzarding out so you slipped on your mink coat, boots and only had your night shirt underneath. THOSE WERE THE DAYS MOI. I wish they could be relived. 
MOEY,GARRETT and ANDY were always 1st in your thoughts and  I don't know if there ever was a time we didn't talk about them. GOD must be holding his sides laughing at your stories of Ireland and the characters you met there. 
WE all love you Moira and always will.

Dear Ellen and all of Moi's family,
I was so sorry to hear of Moi's passing.  She will be in my prayers, and you are all in my thoughts.  I think Holly has captured and beautifully expressed the essence of Moira in her note above, you can see it in this smiling picture.  Hold tight to the memories of the good times and to Moi's fighting spirit, and soon your sadness of her death will turn to smiles of good memories of her life.  God Bless you all!

Moira was one of the first people I met when I joined BPS many, many years ago. I didn't understand her wisdom at first; but years later, I got what she had been telling me. She was a great Counselor, a good colleague, a leader for the Buffalo School Counselors Assoc. and damn fine lady.
May her family find comfort and peace in the wonderful memories she left with you and created with all those whose lives she touched in BPS, students and faculty alike.

Ellen, Your sister was an awesome  spirit and sou. The world was made beautiful by her presence. You are in our prayers.

My Aunt Moira, like her siblings, had a truly beautiful soul. She made the world a better place.  A long and loyal friend who always made time to show up regardless of what was going on in her life. Moi had a love for beauty - music, nature, dance, people. A spirit of adventure. Avid reader and life long learner. She brought the beauty out. A relentless champion for the underdog, an eternal optimist. She treasured her family for which she was self appointed keeper of memories. Always quick to laugh at herself. A true love for life. We all know though the greatest love of all for Moira Mahoney was her children Moira, Garrett & Andrew. I love you Moi.

Moira was the very first and one of the best friends I have in the Buffalo Board of education.  Her wisdom, love and strength made my first year tollerable.  Without her guidance and support I would not be looking back on  22 years of successful service to the city of Buffalo and its children. She will always hold a special place in my heart and constantly remain in my prayers as a loved and respected mentor and friend. Her equal has yet to be created.

There are no words to express our sadness with the passing of one of our very BEST FRIENDS.  Moira gave us so much in the way of 
Love and friendship and sharing her family with us.  She was a very special person and we loved her very much
