Walter Heinz Grapentin of Kelowna, B.C. passed away unexpectedly at the age of 64 years. He is survived by his mother, Pearl and sister, Gloria (Lyle) Eslinger, as well as his nephew Cole (Jessica) and niece Amanda (Lance) and their children, all of Cochrane, Alberta. He is also survived by his children Nicholas (Kirstie) and Starla (Joseph) Archibald, and his two grandchildren Jaxon and Arianna of Calgary, Alberta. In 2003 Walter’s father, Heinz, died and in 2018 his older brother Wilf passed suddenly.
Walter completed primary and secondary school in Calgary. He lived and worked, the latter mainly in construction, in Alberta and British Columbia, settling in Kelowna where he was a realtor initially and then a custom home builder. Walter loved Kelowna from his childhood days where he shared good times with his Grandparents, Uncle, Aunt and cousins who resided there.
Walter was adventurous and creative. He was fun to be with, always interested in, caring about and enjoying people, helping out whenever possible. Although he had many hobbies, his favourites were fishing and boating.
The Memorial Service for Walter will be held on Friday, January 13th at 2:00 p.m. at First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Ave, Kelowna .
