We would like to celebrate the wonderful life of an extraordinary man who peacefully passed away the morning of February 18th, 2022 at 76 years of age. Rodney was born in Ottawa, ON to the late Joan(nee Patch) and Harlow Wright on December 18th, 1945. The oldest child of a close knit group of siblings who adored their big brother. Stuart Wright, Janet(Jim Taylor) Wright, Lois(Jack) Bearden, David(Late Donna) Wright, and Ian(Brenda) Wright. He also had many nieces and nephews who he loved spending time with on many family ski vacations and other family events.
Beloved husband and best friend to Linda, marrying on May 1st, 1980. They raised two wonderful children, Graham(Becky) and Phillip(Janelle) who gave him four beautiful grandchildren. He was so proud of his children and told them often. He spent as much time as possible with his grandchildren and was known to them as Silly Grandad.
The family made their way to the Lawrence Park neighbourhood in Toronto where Rodney excelled in school and then attended the University of Western Ontario majoring in History. He went on to have a career in sales and marketing and was a marketing mastermind. He ended his successful career at Johnson and Johnson.
He was a beloved member of the communities he lived in, including The Beaches, Toronto and Guelph, Ontario, retiring to Casa Loma in Kelowna. He was involved in so many community associations and was a force to be reckoned with.
Rodney had a passion for skiing and golf and often rounded up family and friends for many adventures. His other passion was travel and he was always planning his next escapade. He left his mark on so many countries around the world, making friends wherever he went.
