Nettie is survived by her daughter Karen, son-in-law Joe, brother Lawrence and sisters Evelyn and Grace.
Nettie was born September 10, 1940, in Rossburn, Manitoba, where she grew up and eventually moved to Port Arthur (Thunder Bay), Ontario, where she met her husband Metro. They were married for 61 years. In 1965, she had her only daughter Karen and proceeded to relocate to Winnipeg in 1966 for employment.
Nettie always worked in the service industry, whether it was in store cafeterias or in the school system. She always liked dealing with people and was extremely friendly. After battling cancer at age 50, she retired and enjoyed the home life. You could always see her out in her garden and flower beds. That was her happy place!
In 2005, Nettie and Metro migrated West with friends to Kelowna, B.C. to enjoy the milder winters.
Nettie was dearly loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.
