Mary-Ann Antonia Kummer

KUMMER: Mary-Ann. It is with love and sadness that we announce the passing of Mary-Ann Kummer on June 1st, 2020, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She has blessed us with her love and understanding and her generous nature to help anyone. Mary-Ann was born in Vancouver, BC and lived in Burnaby, BC until she married in Burnaby on May 20th, 1961, she then moved to Kelowna where she lived for 59 years.

Mary-Ann is survived by her loving husband Nicholas, three loving sons Brain and his girlfriend Heather, Steven, David and daughter-in-law Rose and their beautiful daughters Kara and Mia. Mary-Ann is also survived by her brother John Punt and family. She was predeceased by her parents John George Punt and Antonia Punt. Mary-Ann had a special relationship with her to granddaughters and loved them dearly.

Nick and Mary-Ann just celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on May 20th, 2020. She was an outstanding professional hairstylist and created Mary-Ann’s Beauty Salon which was located on Ellis Street downtown Kelowna and she later created and designed another beauty salon, Chez Paree which was her pride and joy. She has had many loyal customers over her many years of hairstyling and has won quite a few top hair styling and related Awards. She loved to travel many countries but Austria had a special place in her heart as she loved to visit her remaining family and friends there.

Mary-Ann loved to cook and bake for her family whenever she had the opportunity and the time. She was very precise with whatever she did and was a very hard worker. There will be no funeral service by her request.
