John David Vass

VASS: John David. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of John David Vass, 84, after a brief battle with cancer. Dave was born on May 28, 1929 in Penticton BC to Jack and Elsie Vass. He was predeceased by his parents and his older brother Don . Dave is survived by his 3 children: Bill Vass; Jody Vass; his son David; Shelley Einarson, her son Evan. Dave is also survived by his brother Ken (Jeannine) , sister-in-law: Isabelle and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Dave is also survived by his loving wife Ingrid and her 4 children; Jane (Al); Peggy (Jim); Sheri (Dan); Cindy (Don) as well as her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dave was an active member of the Kelowna-Rutland Lion’s Club and took great pride in his service work and the friendships developed there. He also volunteered for many years at KGH and Brookhaven. Dave and Ingrid spent the last 9 years together, enjoying travel and the love and companionship with their blended families. We will miss Dave’s infectious smile and great attitude toward life each and every day. In lieu of flowers, we encourage people to donate in Dave’s name to the Central Okanagan Hospice House, Love and thanks to Hospice House where we all found comfort and peace from the amazing nurses and caregivers. Celebration of Life will be on Friday, February 21st at 2:00 p.m. at Mainstreet Community Church, 1580 Bernard Avenue, Kelowna, BC.
