Henry was born in Prince George, BC on Oct. 10, 1931. He took most of his schooling in McBride, BC. He moved to Prince George with his family in 1949. After graduation, he worked as an electrician; then moved on to work for Imperial Oil for 14 years. He started his own construction business in Chilliwack and built houses for many years. After moving to Kelowna in 1983, he managed the Wigwam Smoke Shop until 2001 when he retired.
Henry had a pilot’s license and owned a Luscombe for a time when he lived in Prince George. In later years, he built and flew model airplanes and became a member of the Summerland Flying Club.
Henry was predeceased by his parents and sister Elsie de Ridder.
Henry is survived by his loving wife, Ruby and three children: Brenda (Sharman) of North Vancouver, BC, Druh (Michael) of Lions Bay, BC and Trevor (Julie) of Lake Country, BC.
Henry is also survived by two grandchildren Mia and Sage Lemmers and one sister Fran Heighington, nieces Karen de Ridder and Nicole Whyte and nephews Brian and Mark de Ridder and Richard and Shawn Heighington.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
