Doreen Beatrice Stewart

It is with sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Doreen B. Stewart, 3 weeks after her 90th birthday, at Hospice House. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Bert, daughter Laura, son Don and daughter in law, Linda.

She leaves sons, York and Jay Stewart, daughters Bonnie (Don) Haines and Lou (Don) Deskins, 7 grandchildren, her pride and joy, and 11 great grandchildren who gave her so much happiness.

After raising their family in Calgary, Doreen and Bert moved to Kelowna in 1969. Doreen spent many years volunteering with the Kelowna General Hospital Auxiliary. She and Bert served on the National Board of Anglican Marriage Encounter. They were both active members in St. Michaels Anglican Church and volunteered many hours.

She loved playing bridge and had a special place in her heart for her “bridge girls”.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. D. Imrie and all the caring staff at Hospice House. In lieu of flowers, Doreen would welcome donations to St. Michaels Anglican Church, Hospice House or the charity of your choice.

We are having a celebration of mom’s life on Friday, October 17th at 2:00 pm at St. Michaels Cathedral Church, 608 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna.
