Born on October 2, 1972, in New York, New York, Shirley earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance at Baruch College. She then pursued her passion for Marketing and received her MBA at Fordham Gabelli School of Business.
From that passion, she took her husband, Alex, and furry family on a journey from New York/New Jersey to Arizona. From the heart of New York City, they were introduced to a different scenery, where red rocks and saguaros towered the landscape. They also met new friends and added Nate and Brandon to the family. Their journey then continued to DFW where she discovered her other passion, CrossFit. As new residents of Keller, the Lin family became part of the CrossFit DFW, Top Kids Gymnastics, and of course, the Keller Band families.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Alex; her sons, Nate and Brandon; her fur babies, Gracie, Minnie, Elinor, Gabby, and Roxy; and a host of extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
A memorial service to celebrate Shirley's life will be held on July 27, 2024 from 12:00 PM at Keller’s Old Town Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 220 Keller Parkway, Keller, TX 76248.
Repast following the service at CrossFit DFW and Top Kids Gym & Sports at 401 and 407 S Pearson Lane, Keller, TX 76248.
I would like to thank Courtney and Lance for hosting at Shirley’s happy place, and Dalia for hosting at the kids’ happy place.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the following charities in Shirley's memory: Best Friends Animal Society, Dallas Dog, Southwest Collie and Sheltie Rescue, Freedom Collie Rescue, Houston Collie Rescue, Opossum Pouch Rescue and Rehabilitation, Dog Ranch Rescue Happy Tails, Rise and Above Animal Rescue & Sanctuary, Colby’s Crew Rescue, Saving Hope Rescue, Tao Animal Rescue, and Randall’s Rescue.
These are a few of her favorites, but any rescue, no-kill shelters, etc. will do. As long as they go towards animals in need.
Since Pancreatic Cancer has become one of the most difficult to detect and treat, here are two organizations that can give hope and make this into a curable disease: Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and Lustgarten Foundation.
