to Louis and Ethel Hinz. Sherrie grew up in Fort Worth with one sister, Judy, and three brothers, Louis, Randy, and Matt. As the children grew up, the Hinz family found the panhandle of Florida to be a favorite vacation spot, a tradition Sherrie and her husband James continued after retirement, making many trips to the Destin area.
Sherrie and James married in 1974 and began a partnership that flourished through the years. In 1974 James and Sherrie purchased their home in Haltom City, and ten years later, Sherrie's brother Louis moved in with them.
Sherrie 's life revolved around her husband and her home, her job as a telemarketer, and her dog Angel. Sherrie liked to play board games with Louis, and internet games such as Farm Town. She enjoyed old movies and television shows and had an extensive collection of both. Other items Sherrie collected included tea cups, Minions, angels, and Florida souvenirs. Sherrie even brought sand back from the white beaches of the panhandle to remind her of the place she loved when she could not be there.
Sherrie’s church and her faith were important to her, and religious pictures and statues adorned her home. For many years, James, Sherrie, and Louis set aside time each evening to read the Bible and worship their savior. The family is grateful for the care their church family at Northwest Church of Christ has given them over the past year.
Sherrie is survived by her husband James, her four siblings, eight nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Ethel Hinz.
