Ronald Dale Brown, age 82, of Fort Worth, Texas passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023. Ron was raised in Southern California and enjoyed his summers with family in Montana. He graduated from Lincoln High School in San Diego, California with the class of 1958. He shared stories of his fun as a youth, riding the huge rollercoaster at the Pike on Long Beach Pier. After graduation, Ron joined the Navy. He took much pride in his time of service on diesel powered submarines, with the majority aboard the USS Bream. He wrote a memoir of his time in the service, waiting until after the confidential information was released regarding President Kennedy's orders in 1962 to block Russian ships from delivering missiles to Cuba.
Ron married Phyllis A Mowry in 1960 and they had two children, Theresa (Teri) Seaton and Ronald (Ron) Brown. They divorced.
He later married Glenda F Cobb in 1972 and they had two children, Nicole Dreier and Scott Brown. They divorced.
Ron worked many jobs with his talent as a salesman. He tried his hand at owning two businesses; Ron's Hotdogs, in Newport Beach, CA and Valley Dry Cleaning in Escondido, CA. He worked for Sparkletts, Farm Bureau Insurance, NFIB, nuclear power plants in Kansas and Connecticut, among other jobs, retiring from the USPS. During his retirement, he worked in the Senate Chambers of the State Capitol in Kansas, enjoyed countless rounds at the golf course, while also working as a starter at The Golf Club at Fossil Creek in Fort Worth.
Of the many things Ron enjoyed, he loved to garden. He always had one of the nicest yards in the neighborhood, no matter what city or state he was in. He won "Lawn of the Month" often and was proud of that. He enjoyed taking immaculate care of his vehicles also and instilled that on his children and grandchildren. He loved his Southern California lifestyle and it was evident when you spent time around him. He loved his sports and cheered for teams wherever he lived.
He was a man who encouraged his children to try new things and guide them into making good choices in life. Ron's love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and being born again is the main message he would want everyone to know about him. Ron was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Keller.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Amy L Brown and Hiran L Brown, a younger brother, Marc A Brown, a grandson Marc A Brown and both Phyllis and Glenda. Ron’s brother Marc was killed in action in Vietnam; he was looking forward to their heavenly reunion. His grandson, Marc, was named after his brother.
He leaves behind his four children, Teri (Ray) Seaton, Ron (Karla) Brown, Nicole (Ryan) Dreier and Scott Brown; seven grandchildren, Amy (Charlie) Paris, Nicholas (Emily) Seaton, Dylan (Renee) Pankaskie, Jacob Brown, Alea (Brandon) Stubblefield, Olivia & Zachary Dreier; ten great-grandchildren, Rylee & Lillian Paris, Adalynn, Nolan and Alaina Seaton, Gentry Pankaskie, Kendall Brown, Justin Brown, Katherine and Madalyn Stubblefield.
