Leticia Elizabeth Alvarado, born May 24, 1951, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, passed away on February 14, 2024 at the age of 72. Born in Guatemala, she embarked on a journey of resilience and determination when she migrated to the Harlingen, TX as a young teenager after her father passed away. Graduating at Valley Baptist Academy and evening earning a scholarship to Baylor University thereafter, she proved she wasn’t going to let the language barrier be a crutch for her. Throughout her life, she exemplified unwavering strength and selflessness, tirelessly working to provide for her family and create a brighter future for generations to come.
Leticia was a devout follower of Christ and a beacon of love and devotion, touching the lives of all who knew her. Her generosity knew no bounds, as she gave to others even when faced with her own challenges. Her unconditional love and nurturing spirit enriched the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and warmth. Beyond her role as the matriarch, she had a deep passion for cooking spicy foods, traveling, her birds and caring for her friends and sisters Thelma and Sandra Romero. She served as an inspiration to all who had the privilege of crossing paths with her.
Leticia will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her loving and giving nature. Though she may no longer be with us in person, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known her. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rosa Enola Roulet Pierre, and her father Enrique Salvador Romero. She is survived by her two daughters Oribel Ortiz and Claudia Glaubitz and husband Kris, grandchildren: Gabriel Wiyninger, Daisy Wiyninger, Kalan Glaubitz, and Karis Glaubitz, and her great grandchildren: Logan Wiyninger and Basil Carter.
