Ken Mears passed away on August 12, 2024, in Fort Worth TX at the age of 51. Born August 3, 1973,on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, Ken led a life marked by kindness, a deep love for his family, and a courageous battle against cancer for 12 years.
Ken graduated from Virginia Military Institute in 1996 and built a successful career as a manager at Schwab. He was a caring father and husband, dedicated to his family, which includes his wife of 27 years, Emily, and his two sons, Ranson and Ben, of whom he was immensely proud. Kens family circle also includes his parents Bonnie and Wayne Mears, three sisters, Kim Mears, Kaz Webster(Glen) Kathy Brady (Jim) a nephew Kurt Webster (Jaz) niece Melinda Webster a great nephew Oliver and Aunts and Uncles, and many cousins and friends who were as close as family.
Ken's faith was a cornerstone of his existence, providing strength during his lengthy health struggles.
Ken was also a creative spirt who enjoyed building things, like fences and treehouses, making lasting memories for his sons during their childhood. His passions extended to movies, TV shows and football, always ready to share his opinions and join in discussions.
The final days of Ken life were challenging, but his family finds solace in knowing he is free from pain. Kens life and Legacy will be honored at a service held at Old Town Funeral Home on Sunday, August 18th at 1:00pm.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and the importance of faith, which will continue to inspire those who knew him. Ken will be profoundly missed by all whose lives he touched.
