Our vibrant daughter, Kaylee Jane Pearson, who had the nerve to fight and make her young dreams come true, passed away just short of the age of 11 on Monday, June 13th, 2022, in the company of her mother, Briana, and father, Danny. She was a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, great granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend. She will be missed more than any words can describe.
Kaylee was born in Lake Forest, IL to Briana and Danny Pearson on June 20th, 2011. Kaylee spent her first five and half years growing up in Ingleside, IL before moving to Euless, TX in November of 2016 and finally to Fort Worth, TX in September of 2017.
From the day she was born, Kaylee was a happy child who never went a day without a smile on her face and bringing joy to those around her. As a very young child she enjoyed many things that most kids do, but it was obvious early on that one of her loves of life would be reading. By the age of only 18 months Kaylee was able to recite full children’s books word for word, page for page, without error. This love for books would never leave her and would grow into an obsession with the Harry Potter series. Some of her favorite characters being Sirius Black, Luna Lovegood, Bellatrix Lestrange and Hermione Granger. Her Harry Potter fandom fed into her wardrobe choices, room decorations, clubs with her friends, and her last Halloween costume as a fierce Bellatrix Lestrange.
Also evident from an early age was Kaylee’s love to perform in front of others. As a toddler she began dance classes and would beam on stage performing in front of large crowds. As she grew older this love evolved into a passion for musical theater. Her first musical performance was as an orphan in Annie while in 2nd grade at Park Glen Elementary. She followed that up as a vulture in 3rd grade in her school’s adaptation of The Jungle Book. After those performances she started taking classes at Time to Shine Performing Arts, where she really came to life and truly started to shine on stage. Here she attended summer camp, took performance classes, and was accepted as a member of a more advanced troupe class. In just under a year’s time, she performed as Amanda in Matilda Jr., sang a duet of Somewhere That’s Green in the theater’s All Together Now show, played Lady #2 in Once Upon a Mattress Jr, the White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland, and finally as a Lost Boy in Hook. She had dreams of going to Hollywood one day and shining on the big stage. Hollywood will never know what it missed out on.
Kaylee will be remembered for her big heart, her fierce love of Harry Potter, her spirited performances, her special hugs and the love she gave so freely, cheeseburgers with everything on them, her kindness, gentle spirit, and most of all her determination. Kaylee inspired so many with her perseverance to work through all of life’s challenges thrown at her with a smile on her face.
Her family cherishes her memory as the brief gift it was. Kaylee is survived by her parents Briana and Danny; her brother, Jaxon; her grandparents John, Debra, and Kathy; her aunts and uncles Jaime (Leslie), Kevin, Jennifer (Ande), and Liz; her cousins Ryan, Olivia, Maverick, and Greyson; as well as many other family members and close friends. She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Steve.
Kaylee’s family will be hosting a visitation and celebration of life service on Thursday, June 23rd at Keller’s Old Town Funeral Home at 220 Keller Pkwy, Keller, TX 76248. Visitation will occur from 1:30-3:00 PM, with the celebration of life service following immediately at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Kaylee’s honor to CHASA (Children’s Hemiplegia and Stroke Association) https://chasa.org/you-can-help/donate/. If you do choose to send flowers the family asks that you make sure they do not have Lilies in the arrangement.
