Chapter 1. Early Life: Jordan was born September 26, 1991, in Bedford, Texas to Jessica (Faidi) James, and Craig Michael James. As a child Jordan participated in Royal Rangers at Southlake Assembly of God and would dutifully demand his vest and uniform be ironed before their weekly meeting. He had an incredible imagination and would put it to use daily, whether it be tying a small yellow blanket around his neck and insisting his brother Ross call him Batman or constructing entire battle sequences and storylines for his sister, Victoria, and himself to act out. He collected everything from eagle figurines to eccentric swords. Growing up Jordan was committed to soccer, football in high school, swim team, with lots of basketball not only due to his own interest, but out of the commitment he had to his brotherhood (Philip Neece, Chris Admire, Michael Shellis, Luke Smith et al.)
Chapter 2. Education: Jordan attended school at Liberty Christian and was a graduate of the class of 2009. He started a business as a swimming instructor during his summers off from college. He attended his first year of college at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville before transferring to Texas A&M, graduating in 2015. With his undergraduate degree in hand Jordan applied to and was accepted to the South Texas College of Law. So, Jordan packed up his car, and with his mother’s support, set out for Houston and found an apartment. He moved everything in and waited excitedly for the next page in this chapter, Law School. Jordan graduated from the South Texas School of Law in 2018. Achieving his lifelong goal, Jordan now had a few months ahead to study for the Texas Bar Exam.
Chapter 3. Morty: And what better way to celebrate his graduation and encourage him in studying than a puppy, but not just any puppy would suffice, for he had his heart set on a miniature Australian Shepherd. He went to his grandparents’ house in Missouri and flew back to Houston with said dog under his seat. Jordan got a service harness for Morty and began taking him to the school library. Morty would sit all day while Jordan studied for the bar. Everyone at the school got so attached to Morty and when it was time for the bar exam, his professor kept Morty until Jordan got out of the exam.
Chapter 4. Enjoying the Fruits of His Labor: Now, after passing the Bar in 2019, Jordan had big plans in his future. To say his family was proud was an understatement. He settled into Houston with his “favorite dog ever” Morty, and his best girl Liz. They shared a life which included lots of LSU football games at Liz’s urging but Jordan always smiled as she dressed Morty in an LSU jersey before every game. He enjoyed playing many games, including Monopoly (Thanks to Mrs. Neece), Texas Hold’em (Thanks to his older brother, Ross James), and pretty much any computer or controller operated video game. Jordan had a beautiful pen and enjoyed reading a plethora of genres including: fantasy novels, political pamphlet series, science fiction, and poetic literature. Jordan practiced Personal Injury Law and was always excited to help his clients win a case where they had been wronged.
Chapter 5. Gone Too Soon: Jordan was Just and Humble and in his company laughter and joy abounded. He cared deeply for the people he loved. He had a love for the Lord in his heart from an early age, and deeply loved Liz, Morty, his family, and his friends. We were all blessed to share Jordan’s journey for 32 years and grateful for the gift of his warmth and gentle presence. Until we meet again in Glory, Golden boy. We must carry his life verse, Isaiah 40:31, with us and act accordingly. “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint.”
Jordan Dallas James will be missed and the time we had with him will be forever cherished by his surviving family, his mother, Jessica Faidi James, of Haslet, TX; father, Craig James, of Denton, TX; step father, Allen Vasut, of Haslet TX; devoted partner, Liz Glauser, of Houston, TX; brother and sister, Ross James, of New Rochelle, New York, and Victoria James, of Haslet, TX; siblings Amber Robbins-Blanton, of Rockwell, TX, and Sydni Young-Jeter, of Sherman, TX; nieces Kali Blanton, of Rockwall, TX, and Prowess Jeter, of Sherman, TX; grandparents, Cherif and Sarah Faidi, of Trophy Club, TX, Donn and Connie James, of Salem, MO, and Susan and Dick Langdon, of St. Louis, MO; a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, and most of all his beloved partner in crime Morty. He was preceded in death by his cousin John Andrew VanSlyke and his faithful first pup, Socks James.
Funeral services will be on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at the Keller Old Towne Funeral Home at 12:30PM. Interment will follow at Medlin Cemetery Trophy Club, TX, followed by a reception across the street at Jordan’s maternal grandparents, Sarah and Cherif Faidi’s home #17 Avenue Twenty, Trophy Club, TX. Visitation will be held at the Chapel prior to the service on Sunday from 10:30 AM until service time.
