He graduated in 1998 from East Aurora High School in Aurora Illinois and was a 2012 graduate of American Military University with a Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice and with concentration in Terrorism/Counterterrorism. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy and was a 20 year veteran. Some of his accomplishments included Armory Technician (Department of Labor), Security Specialist (US Military Apprenticeship Program), Certified Anti-Terrorism Specialist (Anti-Terrorism Accreditation Board), Crisis Negotiations, Domestic Terrorist Groups, Field Training Office, Officer Surveillance and Patrol Response to Active Shooters. Jason is survived by his wife, Jeanette Pilapil Cartee; children, Faith, Nia and Draper; parents, Robert and Karen Cartee; nieces, Jhasen , Jilian, Jasmine and Baby Pilapil; aunts, Sue Cartee and Rae Ellen Drees; uncles, Larry Cartee and Paul Drees; cousins, Jared Cartee & family, Austin Cartee & family, Bryan Drees & family, Pam Drees & husband, Greg Drees & family, Tracey Niklas Kornfeind & family, Christina Niklas Hutchins & family, Vicki Hinterlong Pohar & husband and Sherry Hinterlong Skinner & family; great aunts, Marilyn Niklas and Loretta Hinterlong; and great uncle, Russ Hinterlong.

Memorial Service will be held at 6 pm, Monday, February 17, 2020 at Keller's Old Town Funeral Home, 220 Keller Parkway, Keller, Texas 76248.
