Robert D. “Bob” Yacubian, of West Chesterfield, died Monday, June 13, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Elizabeth (Betsy) Yacubian for 43 years; the proud father of Karen Tudino and her husband Michael of Medway, MA, David Yacubian and his wife Erin of San Francisco, CA, and Katie Yacubian of Brighton, MA.; and brother of Lawrence M. Yacubian and his wife Susan of Punta Gorda, FL. He was the devoted and loving “Beepa” to his granddaughters Emma, Ally, Ella Grace, and Gillian. The son of Phyllis (Martin) and Levon M. Yacubian, he was born in Holden, MA on August 23, 1940, and was raised in South Barre, MA.
Bob worked in industrial sales in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. He was a sergeant in the US Army, stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Bob was very active in the Chesterfield community where he coached his children’s sports teams and was an elected member of the Chesterfield Budget Committee for 9 years. He was very active in the United Church of Christ in Keene where he served as a deacon and also on the church council. He particularly enjoyed participating in church mission trips and musicals. Additionally, he was an active volunteer for the Keene Community Kitchen and Monadnock Tobacco Cessation Program.
Bob enjoyed time outdoors hunting and fishing, caring for his yard, and spending time with his numerous dogs over the years. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Betsy, to many places over the years including a much anticipated 40th Anniversary trip to Alaska. He was an avid reader and enjoyed writing poetry for special occasions for friends and family. Bob loved spending time with his family, especially his four granddaughters. He was a supportive friend who enjoyed doing things for others and always put a smile on peoples’ faces. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Calling hours will be Friday, June 17, 4-7pm at Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court St. Keene, NH. Memorial Services will be Saturday, June 18, 11am at the United Church of Christ, 23 Central Square, Keene, NH.
