Her parents, Ernest N. and Mary R. (Caderette) Guyette, welcomed their daughter into the world on May 7, 1932 in Keene, NH. Rita grew up in Keene and was a 1950 graduate of Keene High School.
Rita’s jobs outside of the home included many different responsibilities. First as a telephone operator with the local telephone office; a clerk at the former Fisherman’s Department Store; a secretary with the former Sprague and Carlton Furniture Manufacturing Company in Keene; at MPB Corporation in Keene; and as a hostess with the former Christmas Inn.
When not hard at work, Rita helped with the weekly bingo concessions at the East Swanzey Community House. Her skilled hands and creative mind found her enjoying ceramics, drawing sketches and paintings, knitting and crocheting. She even tried her hand at hairdressing school. However, her most important and favorite skill was that in her role as mother.
She will be greatly missed by many, especially her husband of 68 years, Charles R. Beauregard, Sr. of Swanzey; her children, Mark J. Beauregard and his fiancée, Kim Mattson, of Richmond, NH, Michael A. Beauregard and his wife, Micky, of Deltona, FL, Denise R. Simard of Troy, NH; four grandchildren, Joshua Beauregard and his wife, Jennifer, Charles Beauregard, Briana Simard, Andrew Beauregard; five great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Christine Beauregard of Keene, NH; a brother, Dexter Guyette of Keene; and many nieces and nephews and extended family members. Rita was predeceased by a son, Charles R. Beauregard, Jr.; two granddaughters, Heather Beauregard and Marie Ann Simard; a brother, Donald Guyette; and her twin sister, Mary Ruth Guyette who died at nine months of age.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 11:00am in St. Bernard Church, 185 Main Street, Keene. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery, Old Homestead Highway (Route 32), Swanzey. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00PM in the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene.
