She was born in Clinton, MA on July 3, 1921, the daughter of James and Elizabeth (Keyes) Paige. She grew up in the Clinton area and attended local schools there.
After she married Alfred Charles Nadeau, they lived in Buffalo, NY and several other parts of New York until they moved to NH in 1961.
Mrs. Nadeau worked for local businesses including Douglas Toy and Princess Shoe. She also worked for several laundromats and grocery stores.
She attended Grace United Methodist Church in Keene.
Mrs. Nadeau was a skilled seamstress, toymaker, cook and enjoyed growing flowers. She was very creative in her crafts and could make something out of nothing. She also enjoyed making and giving gifts to family members and her fellow senior citizens in her building.
She is survived by her daughters Corinne O’Brien of Edgewater, FL and Ruth Ann Messer of Swanzey; her son Larry Nadeau of Winchester; eleven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren (with two on the way) and one great, great grandchild. Her husband Alfred Nadeau, sons John Comeau and David Nadeau and daughter Marilyn Comeau all died earlier.
Services for Mrs. Nadeau will be held on Monday, April 23, 2012, 10:00 AM at Fletcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 33 Marlboro St., Keene, NH. Calling Hours will be held an hour before. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mrs. Mildred C. Nadeau’s name to the Monadnock Humane Society, 101 West Swanzey Road, Swanzey, NH 03446.
