Joyce M. Williams

She was born May 30, 1939, in Dover Foxcroft, ME, the daughter of Chester O. and Gladys E. (Doore) Downs. On November 29, 1975 she married the love of her life: James Williams.

Joyce had a great talent for crafting. Her projects included knitting, sewing, and embroidery. She was an enthusiastic doll collector with a fondness of those that were porcelain. She was an active member at the First Baptist Church in Troy. Most of all, she loved being “Grams” and “Grammy” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she spent much time caring for and watching them grow.

She is survived by her son: Daniel Foss of Troy; two daughters: Carol Schillinger and her husband Scott of Troy, and Diane Bunker of St. Petersburg, FL; son-in-law: Ronald Reed of Fitzwilliam; three sisters: Rebecca Simpson of Fitzwilliam, Gloria Cook of Dover Foxcroft, ME, and Pamela Flanagan of Bryan, TX; twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She is predeceased by James Williams, her husband of over 40 years and two daughters: Laura Reed and Gloria Clark.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church, 17 North Main Street, Troy, NH. There will be no calling hours. Burial will take place in the spring in the family lot in the Mountain View Cemetery in Troy.
