Joanne L. Castle

She was born in Newport, NH, June 25, 1948, the daughter of Leon F. and Iona M. (Smith) Emerson. A resident of Keene for most of her life, she was a graduate of Keene High School in 1966.

She worked for 22 years in the accounts receivable department at the Peerless Insurance Company in Keene. She was an avid Red Sox fan.

Survivors include her son, Scott Castle and his wife, Nicole, of Swanzey, NH; three grandchildren, Hayden, Erin and Adrian; two brothers, Earle A. Emerson of Keene, Edward B. Emerson and his wife, Dianne, of Northport, Florida; two nephews, Travis Emerson and Corey Emerson; two great-nieces, Madison Emerson and Arebella Emerson; and also including her extended family at the Maplewood Nursing for years of care and friendship.

A visitation and celebration of life will be held Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:30PM in the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene. Burial in the North Newport Cemetery, Newport, NH, will be private.

In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donation may be made in Mrs. Castles’ memory to the Resident’s Activity Fund at the Maplewood Nursing Home, 201 River Road, Westmoreland, NH 03467.
