James N. Belden

Jim was born on May 4, 1942 to Merritt Belden and Elsie Stewart Belden. He was educated in Keene schools graduating from Keene High School with the class of 1960.

Jim married Nancie Kay February 2, 1974. They enjoyed traveling, especially to Maine every summer.

He began working at Kingsbury Machine Tool Corp in the summer of 1960 as a machinist. After many years he became very knowledgeable in all aspects of the company and was promoted to sales. He retired after 40 years with the company. After a brief retirement he worked for NAPA Auto Parts. He is most recently remembered as the shuttle driver for Walier Chevrolet. He was most happy transporting cars between dealerships and picking up and delivering customers to and from their destinations.

Jim was a car enthusiast and was very particular about how he cared for them, not letting the smallest scratch escape his sight. His cars were always kept clean and shiny.

Jim enjoyed antique and classic cars and owned a 1931 Chevrolet and a 1969 Buick Electra. During the summers he enjoyed going to car shows and entered his cars in many of them. He was proud of the trophies he had won.

He is survived by his wife Nancie, his sister Martha (Bob) Silk, brother in law Wes Griswold, granddaughter Kalijiah, great granddaughter Kajlynn, nieces Mandi, Debbi, Dawn, Melissa, nephews Tim,Scott and Donald and several great nieces and nephews. There was a special place in his heart for Kitiara Mann. She is a great niece that was like a granddaughter to him.

Jim is predeceased by his parents, son James “Mike” Belden, daughter Michele Whitley and sister Nancy Belden Griswold.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM and from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Fletcher Funeral Home, 33 Marlboro Street, Keene, NH. A funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, December 4, 2023 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Monadnock View Cemetery, Park Ave, Keene, NH.
