Helen Seliskey

Helen Seliskey, 94, previously residing at Meadow Road in Keene New Hampshire, died Thursday morning, September 5th, 2013, at Keene Center Genesis 677 Court Street, Keene following a period of declining health.

She was born on October 3, 1918 in Keene New Hampshire, the daughter of Michael and Sadie (Draka) Seliskey. A lifelong resident of Keene, she attended Keene schools, graduating from Keene High School, Class of 1938. Helen was a member of the General Chorus and the Personality Club, known to her classmates as "Skie".

In the early years of her career, Helen worked at Newbury's Co on Main Street as a store clerk. Later she worked at the former International Narrow Fabric. Helen then went onto American Optical located on Optical Avenue where she worked for over 30 years. She retired from American Optical in 1983 and fully enjoyed her retirement years.

During her life, Helen enjoyed traveling, bowling, playing cards, dancing, listening to polka music, reading, cooking and baking.

She is survived by many lifelong extended family members most of whom she became known as "Aunt Helen" all through the years. Her brothers Tony Seliskey and John Seliskey died earlier.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, September 9th, 2013 at 12:00 noon with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM. at Fletcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 33 Marlboro St., Keene, NH. Father Andrew Trebugov of Holy Resurrection Church, Claremont, NH will officiate. Burial will follow in the family lot located at the Greenlawn Cemetery.
