Evelyn M. Trask

She was born in Walpole, NH, May 25, 1931. She was in the last class of 16 students to graduate in 1950 from the Walpole Academy.

Evelyn was an excellent cook having grown up working for sixteen years at the former Ox Yoke Restaurant in Westmoreland, NH. Her homemade pies and blueberry muffins were favorites in Walpole. Her chocolate chip cookies were favorites with her family. She took great pride in her role as homemaker and enjoyed helping people. Evelyn loved the holidays with family gathered together, loved to garden, and loved to visit Cape Cod. She especially enjoyed taking long walks.

She was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Walpole, active within her community, and with family, friends and neighbors. In 2008, Evelyn was named Walpole’s Citizen of the Year. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to many.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Paul S. Trask of Walpole; two daughters, Adrienne Moorman of Keene, NH, Robin Sanctuary of Alstead, NH; five grandchildren, Justin, Wendy, Noah, Emma and Tobin Sanctuary; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, George Douglas of Concord, NH. She was predeceased by her mother, Nancy (Chickering) Douglas and a sister, Helen (Douglas) Ashmore, and her first husband, Roger H. Daniels.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the First Congregational Church of Walpole, 15 Washington Square, Walpole. Family and friends are welcome. Burial in the Walpole Village Cemetery will be private. There are no calling hours.
