Eugene Seaver “Cricket” DuBois of Keene, NH passed away at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. Cricket’s life was defined by his love for his family and his strong work ethic.
Eugene was born in Keene, NH on October 6, 1934, to Eunice Seaver and Anthony DuBois. He grew up in Keene, graduating from Keene High School in 1952. He enlisted in the US Navy where he served on active duty until 1955 and as a reservist until 1960. On June 29, 1957, Eugene married the love of his life, Jean Antoinette DiLuzio. They resided initially in Northampton and later in Ludlow, Massachusetts. He attended Northampton Commercial College and Western New England University where he graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration in 1963. He worked for 34 years at Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, primarily as a records administrator, retiring in 1990. After his retirement, he and Jean returned home to Keene where he had a number of hobbies, including recycling at Keene State College, that he kept busy at until his final years battling with dementia.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Clara Stowell, Eunice Larro, Doris Dinkel, Anthony DuBois, Jr., Janice Huslander, and Bruce DuBois. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean, his brother, George DuBois, his children and their spouses, Michael and Roberta DuBois, Mary-Carmen and Thomas Salva, Joseph and Ilona DuBois, Ann and Gary Maziarz, and John and Victoria DuBois, as well as many nieces and nephews. He leaves behind 15 beloved grandchildren, Adam, Eric, Elizabeth, Christopher, Rosanna, Juliana, Susanna, Briana, Anthony, Lauren, Cole, Luke, Alani, Benjamin and Caterina and 20 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held on Monday, December 9 at 10:00 AM at Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene, NH with burial following at Mountain View Cemetery in Swanzey, NH.
