Donna R. Murray 54, of Goodell Avenue, Swanzey, NH, died Sunday, May 31, 2015 at the Cheshire Medical Center / Dartmouth Hitchcock, Keene after a long struggle with Huntington’s Disease, comforted by the love and compassion of her husband and sister at her bedside.
She was born in Keene, NH, July 1, 1960, the daughter of Elwood and Brenda (Stowell) Davis. She grew up in Troy, NH and was a 1978 graduate of Monadnock Regional High School in Swanzey.
Mrs. Murray worked for eight years as a bookkeeper with Davis Oil Company of Keene, and later as office manager for five years with Tanglewood Estates of Keene.
She enjoyed sewing and was a talented crafter. She also enjoyed the outdoors, snowmobiling, motorcycling, boating and later in life riding along beside her husband with the top down on her convertible.
She had a special love and connection with her Niece Laci. The bond was formed at the moment of Laci’s birth and was unwavering to the moment of Donna’s death.
Mrs. Murray enjoyed her time spent at the Castle Center in Keene. Her ten years with her new family and friends there, gave her a reason to get up every morning and countless hours of enjoyment.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Ralph E. Murray of Swanzey; a brother, Michael Davis, Sr. and his wife, Tammy, of Swanzey; a sister, Dodi O’Brien of Baldwinville, MA; four nephews, Michael Davis, Jr., Christopher Davis, Derik Graves, Darron Graves; two nieces, Laci O’Brien, Nicole Murray, a brother-in-law, Randy Murray and his wife, Pamela, of Bellows Falls, VT; and her step-mother, Espie Davis of Winchester, NH. She was predeceased by her parents and by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Eleanor and James Murray.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 10:00AM in St. Bernard Church, 185 Main Street, Keene. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery, Old Homestead Highway, Swanzey. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 6:00PM to 8:00 PM at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene.
