Her parents, Helen E. (Paquette) and Edward H. Wilson, Jr. proudly welcomed their middle child into the world on May 8, 1963 in Keene, NH.
A successful lady, both personally and professionally, Cathy graduated from Marlborough High School in 1981 as class valedictorian. She attended New Hampshire College in Manchester, NH, graduating cum laude in 1985 with a bachelor degree in business management with a minor in accounting.
Cathy’s very successful professional career began in May of 1985 when she started working in the accounts payable and inventory area of Tire Warehouse Central in Keene. She joined the staff of Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in Keene in May of 1986 where she was instrumental in the company’s informational technology development, first as a supervisor of State Filings and Agency Billing; then as assistant manager of receivables; and finally as Lead in business systems projects for financial systems/billing and receivables, a career that spanned almost 31 years with the company. At the time of Cathy’s sudden passing, she was working with the Masiello Insurance Agency in Keene.
Cathy achieved her CPCU insurance designation and traveled to the conferment ceremony in Hawaii in October, 1995. She was a member of the CPCU Society. Cathy also earned an Associate in Insurance Services in 2003; and in 2012 she obtained her Certified Business Analyst designation from George Washington University.
Although very successful in her professional career, Cathy’s greatest achievements centered around her family. While attending New Hampshire College, she met her future husband, David Perley of Laconia, NH. They were married in the Sacred Heart Church in Marlborough on September 28, 1991. Cathy and David celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with a trip to Las Vegas.
While growing up in Marlborough, Cathy was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. While residing in Keene, she was a parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Church, and most recently, she became a member of the Ladies of St. Anne Sodality.
Cathy will be greatly missed by many in the community, especially her husband of 26 years, David L. Perley of Keene; her two children, Alyssa H. Perley and John E. Perley, both of Keene; her mother, Helen E. Wilson of Marlborough; her sisters, Christine H. Symonds and her husband, Timothy, of Keene, Carol A. Dexter and her husband, Paul of Sanbornton, NH; her nephew, Bryan Symonds and his wife, Sarah, and great-nephew, Reid, all of Spofford, NH; her niece and nephew, Jenna Sanchez and Emilio Sanchez, both of Sanbornton; as well as aunts, uncles and cousins. Cathy was predeceased by her father, Edward H. Wilson, Jr. on November 21, 2015; her maternal grandparents, Philip and Cecile Paquette; and her fraternal grandparents, Edward and Frances Wilson.
A memorial mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 30th at 11:30AM in St. Margaret Mary Church, 33 Arch Street, Keene. Burial will be private. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00PM at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene.
