She was born in Keene, NH, January 18, 1957, the daughter of Phyllis A. (Hodgman) and Ernest A. Guyer, Sr. She grew up in Surry, NH, and attended the Monadnock Regional High School in Swanzey. She has been a resident of Swanzey for the past fifteen years.
She was a waitress for many years at Deano’s Pizza and Restaurant in Winchester, as well as managing her own apartment building. However, her favorite responsibilities were that of her role as mother and grandmother. She enjoyed playing BINGO and Pitch, and had a special love for her Yorkie, “Sophie”.
Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Tomer and her husband, Tony, of Richmond, NH; two grandchildren, Ashlyn and Anthony Tomer both of Richmond; a sister, Mary Swift and her husband, Dennis, of Barry, VT; three brothers, Tony Guyer of Rochester, NH, Bruce Guyer and his wife, Charlene, of Marlborough, NH, Dale Guyer and his wife, Shannon, of Keene, NH; a sister-in-law, Cindy Supry of Sullivan, NH; her longtime companion, John W. Black of Keene; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Ernest A. Guyer, Jr.
A graveside service will be held Friday, October 25, 2013 at 12:30PM in the Monadnock View Cemetery, Park Avenue, Keene. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00PM at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene, with words of remembrance of Brenda’s life being offered by family and friends at 7:30PM.
Flowers are accepted or donations may be made in her memory to a charity of one’s choice.
