He was born in Brooklyn, New York, August 27, 1928, the son of Samuel and Dora Starr. He grew up in Brooklyn, graduating from Brooklyn High School.
He received a bachelor degree in management from Brooklyn College.
Mr. Starr resided in Commack, Long Island where he worked for many years with Pall Corporation of Long Island as a business forms designer. He moved to Keene 18 years ago.
As a child, he enjoyed playing hockey. He also enjoyed singing, trying his hand at doing so professionally, by singing in local nightclubs. His enjoyed watching sports on television and bird watching. However, his favorite pastime was all the special times spent with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Diana (Edelman) Starr of Keene; a daughter, Ilene Wheeler and her husband, Mark, of Keene; two grandsons, Wade A. Kornreich and Stephen D. Kornreich, both of Keene; a niece, Maxine Steinberg and her husband, Warren, of Weston, CT; and a nephew, William Edelman and his wife, Sherri, of Milford, PA. A son, Wayne N. Starr, died in 1980. A brother, Irving Starr, died while serving in the military during WWII.
Private services were held in the Congregation Ahavas Achim Synagogue in Keene.
